book challenge accepted–#1, The End of Power: From Boardrooms to Battlefields and Churches to States, Why Being In Charge Isn’t What It Used to Be

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg started a book club this year. The first book for the group to read was announced and it is “The End of Power”. Already, the paperback version of the first book has now sold out on Amazon. I bought it for a $9 Kindle download.

The book, which discusses  how power is distributed between leaders and individuals, has already been a commercial success. It was a Financial Times Best Book of the Year and Arianna Huffington recommends it on Amazon.

Zuckerberg thanked the over 50,000 members of the Facebook community who gave suggestions to him for personal goals and reading more topped the list. He said, “My challenge for 2015 is to read a new book every other week — with an emphasis on learning about different cultures, beliefs, histories and technologies.” I’m all for that.

The Facebook group page, “A Year of Books,” for the reading club  is up and already over 100,000 Facebook fans have liked the book club page in two days time. It will be interesting to see if I can keep this up along with blogging and work, home, etc. But it’s a good idea and I’m going to try. Hope you do too. Love, Kathryn
