The 2015 Oscars are being held tonight and so far, the hosting is benign, boring and who could really follow up Ellen’s show last year? But per usual and to my delight, the ladies brought it with amazing haute couture, jewels and All That Jazz baby.

Cate Blanchett in Maison Martin Margiela

Blanchett is absolutely rocking it with a classy black, sleek gown, turquoise Tiffany necklace and pretty hair. She keeps the makeup simple, hair classy and the necklace draws the eye up to her face as it should. She is beautiful.

Cate Blanchett Academy Awards

Dakota Johnson from Fifty Shades of Grey (Mom, Melanie Griffith/Dad, Don Johnson) in Saint Laurent. Simple, classy, a little glitz. I love her better as a blonde but she has to have brown hair for the “Fifty” filmings.

Dakota Johnson Academy Awards

Lupita Nyong’o in Calvin Klein Collection custom pearl and ivory beaded dress. This is my favorite, I think, show stopper dress of the night. The whole top is “pearled”. The cream against her ebony skin is stunning. She has great taste!

Lupita Nyong'o Academy Awards

Jennifer Hudson (Designer unknown). This yellow is perfect for her and accents her skin and makeup beautifully.

Jennifer Hudson Academy Awards

Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab. Ok, this is beautiful and damn her, she nursed twins? So I’m secretly hoping those babies are seriously taped up. Jealous! The only thing is Lopez seems to wear this nude/peach color so much, they just all blend in as one in my mind. She needs some color.

Jennifer Lopez Academy Awards

Emma Stone in Elie Saab. This is one of my favorite designers and this dress is stunning. The only thing is the color on her is not flattering. If it was a muted gold/silvery gold, it would be better on her.

Emma Stone Academy Awards

Scarlett Johansson (Designer unknown) First of all, damn. Second of all, Dammmmnnn! Third of all, SHAZAM! She just had a baby and is the winner of bounced back from bouncing baby, boo yah yall’. I am blown away by this great look, emerald green, the necklace, the haircut. She is stunning!

Scarlett Johansson Academy Awards

Margot Robbie in Saint Laurent, very sexy look and gorgeous necklace, hair, and makeup

Margot Robbie Academy Awards

Rosamund Pike in Givenchy is just perfect in red, with a pretty waist, soft hair, nice, natural makeup. She’s also just had a baby and I am really amazed at how fast these ladies are getting their bodies back. She is nursing and very comedic in her description of getting ready for these awards shows and trying to find a place to pump. Hilarious!

Rosamund Pike Academy Awards

Reese Witherspoon in Tom Ford. This is pretty and she is styled beautifully.

Reese Witherspoon Academy Awards

The Stink about Pink: I like pink but women who wear pink need to wear “grown up” pink, such as : Zoe Saldana in Atelier Versace

Zoe Saldana Academy Awards

and Gwyneth Paltrow in Ralph & Russo. I don’t adore the flower on her shoulder, but she looks wonderful with her hair and makeup. The flower and her earrings are competing too much.

Gwyneth Paltrow Academy Awards

Sienna Miller in Oscar de la Renta. I do not like bows on gowns for women. Bows are for little girls. It wouldn’t make a worst dressed list for me but sort of in the middle.

Sienna Miller Academy Awards

Battle of the Blahs: Ugh, I’m so tired of this boring blush, ivory, white at awards shows, such as Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

Kerry Washington Academy Awards

Julianne Moore in Chanel (this just isn’t a pretty dress)

Julianne Moore Academy Awards

Marion Cotillard in Dior Haute Couture (the worst of all the lighter gowns, it doesn’t fit her and she seems to know it). I feel awkward looking at her in this monstrosity.

Marion Cotillard Academy Awards

Naomi Watts in Armani Prive. I’m on the fence about this dress. It’s kind of hot without being slutty, but it’s not really “Oscar” worthy.

Naomi Watts Academy Awards

Jessica Chastain (Designer Unknown). Perfect color for her, love her shiny hair, great makeup (as usual). I just think the extra fabric on the shoulders makes her look bigger than she is. It’s cut badly.

Jessica Chastain Academy Awards

I’m too sexy for my…sense

Chrissy Teigen (John Legend’s wife) in Zuhair Murad Couture. Once again, for the third or fourth awards show in a row, Teigen has shown up in a white, beaded, glitzy, breasts out, legs out gown, yawn. She’s a beautiful woman and needs a stylist to put different colors and styles on her. She’s blending in like Lopez.

Chrissy Teigen Academy Awards

Jennifer Aniston in Versace. This is a tad to sheer up the leg for me but on stage, it was very glitzy and pretty. On stage, I liked it a lot more than in this picture that didn’t do it justice.

Jennifer Hudson Academy Awards

Carmen Ejogo (Actress in Selma) in Houghton. No, just no.

Carmen Ejogo Academy Awards

BATTLE OF THE PETITES: Winner, Anna Kendrick

Anna Kendrick Academy Awards

LOSER: Once again, Felicity Jones in Alexander McQueen, wears a dress that is too much dress for her petite frame. This one is better than the last I reported on as the top is fitted well and gives her a waist. I’m waffling on this a bit, but Kendrick takes it and knows how to wear dresses suited to her small frame.

Felicity Jones Academy Awards

Kiera Knightley in Valentino Haute Couture. I realize she’s pregnant but she keeps wearing gowns covered in multi-colored flowers and words…it’s too much and all of it seems costumey and/or straight out of a Jane Austen movie. She should just wear simple, solid color gowns with pretty jewelry and ditch the tiara. Please, it’s not dress up.

Keira Knightley Academy Awards

Behati Prinsloo (Adam Levine’s wife) in Armani Prive. I just think this is unattractive with its popcorn red and black, the large black necklace, and her hair is too severe.

Behati Prinsloo Academy Awards

Love, HauteAngel
